The time was around 1986, I was 12 years old. One day, I came along with my dad to one of his friend’s house, not knowing what to expect, besides the desire to be with my dad wherever he goes. There were a few people there and there was an altar for the worshiping of Kwan Yin and Buddha. We have those statues at home too.
Then I remembered being asked by someone to sit facing the altar, and was given some water in a small cup to drink. After that I joined my hands together and prayed by reciting the name of the Budha over and over. After a while, my hands felt a force moving it apart, then the force prompted me to get up and I walked around the room and finally I laid down on my back on the floor with my arms bent at the elbow and hands pointing toward my head. Meanwhile, I felt as if an electric current was flowing through my whole body. In my mind I thought that this experience was really strange.
Then when the session was over, my dad instructed me to recite Namo Kwan Shih Yin Boddhisattva every night in front of the altar at home. Later on, my dad taught me to chant the Um lam Um xi lam, the five sets of Dharani. I have been reciting the Five Dharanis until now.
At home, I often saw my dad initiate other people by giving them some water and they experienced various signs from what we call the Holy Force. One day I asked him to show me how to do it and I had tried it on a friend my age. I was so happy to see her hands moved apart on their own when she received the force.
One day, I was home with my brother when a man came knocking on the door. I did not open the door until he held up a Buddhist sutra for me to see. I recognized it was the same book my dad had. The man came inside and said that he wanted to be initiated into Old_Guru Secret Teaching. I told him that my dad was not home but I could do it for him also and he accepted. I started the ritual by giving him a small cup of water to drink and prayed out loud in the name of Buddha three times. Then I asked him to pray silently in front of the altar. About 5 minutes later, he stopped and told me that he felt his whole body burning up and that it was a very strange experience. He was happy and thanked me many times. I was also happy to witness the mystical experience that was brought about so easily and speedily simply with a prayer. With this I gained more confidence and started to talk about the initiation to everyone I met and invite them to try it. About 10% of the people receiving the initiation (50 people) did know have any mystical experience.
I wish I could help more people by giving them the initiation, but there was a time I met some skeptical people who did not believe in a higher power and were afraid to try anything new. That is because at that time, there were many negative public opinions about some bad cults going around which caused people to be afraid of the unknown. I was discouraged by the refusals and decided to keep the Force for myself unless somebody asked me first. I learned that it was not easy to help people when they are not ready for it.
Old_disciple was the person that initiated my father, me and the rest of the family (three little brothers, one little sister and mom) All of us practice self cultivation by chanting "Five Dharanis" every night in front of the altar and other times (standing, walking, sitting, driving ...) This has become another way of life which has brought many miracles and blessings to me and my family for which we are forever grateful.
