Fortune-telling experience:
T and her family were filled with anxiety as they prepared to flee the country by boat. With uncertainty looming over their future, they sought solace in the ancient practice of fortune-telling. On a fateful day, T, along with her mother and her boyfriend, visited a renowned blind fortune teller known for his accuracy.

Upon arrival, they exchanged formalities before the blind fortune teller ascended the stairs to a sacred space, where he lit incense and offered prayers at the shrine. Meanwhile, T and her companions waited downstairs, anticipating his predictions.
After a while, he descended and offered the following predictions:
To T’s boyfriend, he said: “Your destiny is not good, your future consists of being confined within four walls; it is best to accept your fate.”
To her, he said: “If your escape coincides with a full moon, you will experience smooth sailing and favorable winds. A promising career awaits abroad.”
However, addressing her mother, he somberly stated, “Do not be disheartened, for you will pass away in solitude.”

When T returned home, she relayed the fortune teller’s advice to her family, emphasizing the importance of scheduling the escape on a full moon day. However, her family informed her that the date had already been set and couldn’t be altered. Consequently, on the predetermined day, the escape attempt failed.
They organized another escape attempt, this time on a full moon day, and this time they succeeded. However, T.’s boyfriend joined a different group and was apprehended, resulting in his imprisonment. T.’s mother opted to remain behind, unwilling to abandon her homeland, and later passed away, alone. Meanwhile, T. resettled in the United States, where she pursued her education. She eventually married and both she and her husband enjoyed successful careers.

When T. became pregnant, she consulted a medium who predicted that she would give birth to a boy on the following Wednesday and that he would grow up to be stubborn. However, T.’s doctor had estimated her due date to be two weeks later. Surprisingly, T. went into labor on Tuesday and delivered a baby boy the next day, just as the medium had foretold. As the boy grew older, he exhibited both intelligence and stubbornness, confirming the accuracy of the prediction. Later on, T. decided to visit the medium again, impressed by the accuracy of her initial reading. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the psychic’s abilities seemed to have waned, and she was unable to provide an accurate reading.

Comments:
Here are some key principles regarding fortune-telling: Fortune tellers or mediums are able to provide accurate readings because they receive information from their invisible Spirits, who are the authorities in the field of fortune-telling. This information is either heard or seen through the third eye, and the fortune tellers simply convey this information to their clients. When a prediction turns out to be accurate, ordinary people often attribute the power to charms or sacred roots that the fortune teller may possess. However, those who understand the underlying principles recognize that the fortune teller was assisted or rewarded by their invisible mentors.
The majority of apprentices initially provide accurate readings because they lack self-interest and are not motivated by profit. However, as they gain experience, self-serving ambitions may develop, leading to a decrease in prophetic power to around 50% accuracy. If they persist in this direction without correction, their accuracy may further decline, resulting in only two correct readings out of ten. In such cases, it is often interpreted as punishment by the Patriarch.

Even experienced fortune tellers, who may have received guidance from the Patriarch, are not always accurate; they too can make mistakes. This can occur because the Deities aim to prevent individuals from becoming overly proud of their abilities and from disclosing truths that may not benefit the client.

Therefore, it is advisable to maintain a neutral stance after having one’s fortune read, neither believing nor disbelieving until the predictions are proven or disproven. Only then can the accuracy of the predictions be accurately judged as true or false.
