Story 7 – The Tibetan Lama

Câu chuyện số 7 – Lạt ma Tây Tạng by ThầyGià on 12 November 2008, translated by NgocXuan, edited by Horangi

Nguyen Thanh Nhon, aged 82, appears much younger, around 50. He hails from a long line of devout Catholics, with his sister having served as a mother superior and later being beatified. He pursued dentistry in France and holds a diving instructor certificate. Additionally, he acquired acupuncture skills from a Japanese monk serving in the Imperial army. Interestingly, the initiation involved the monk placing a prayer book on Nguyen’s head and reciting a prayer in Japanese, despite Nguyen not understanding a word of it.

Although originally from Texas, Nguyen encountered one of Old_Guru’s disciples from California. Following several telephone conversations, Nguyen agreed to undergo initiation over the phone. He was instructed to stand before his home altar, with his hands clasped together, and recite the Lord’s Prayer (later admitting his altar featured images of both Jesus Christ and Buddha). After a few minutes, he reported seeing, through his “third eye,” a luminous parasol adorned with colorful tassels, spinning before him. Behind this parasol, he observed the image of Jesus from his altar. He carefully observed this phenomenon for 5 to 10 minutes before informing the disciple of his experience.

After his initiation, Nguyen enthusiastically shared a mysterious encounter with the disciple: About 5 years earlier, while visiting Switzerland, he stumbled upon a magnificent oriental-looking monastery. Upon entering, he discovered it was a Tibetan monastery, where a Lama in red robes was lecturing to prostrating monks. Surprisingly, the Lama invited Nguyen and his friend into a private room, seeking help to cure his brother’s poor eyesight. Though taken aback, Nguyen agreed to try. Over three days, he successfully treated the Lama’s brother, despite wondering how the Lama knew of his healing abilities.

To show his appreciation, the Lama gifted Nguyen a small Tibetan-style knife adorned with precious stones, stating it could be used for exorcisms.
Later, another disciple of Old Guru, received a vision in which Nguyen’s unseen benefactor appeared as an elderly man dressed in Chinese brocade. This figure was identified as the concealed acupuncture master passed down through the initiation by the Japanese monk. This reveals a connection between the unseen Spirit Mentors of Japan, Tibet, and Old Guru.
