Disciple Hoang_godalat bows to the Patriarch and Master,
Dear Master,
Today, on December 16, 2016, my Spirit Guardian conveyed to me telepathically that I had passed a lesson regarding self-conceit.
This afternoon, around six o’clock, while having dinner with my parents (we usually dine sitting on the floor), we were watching a Chinese martial arts TV series called “The Magic Sword.” The movie was just average. As the plot unfolded, I noticed that the events were unfolding exactly as I had predicted to my mom when we watched the first episode. So, I impulsively exclaimed, “Mom, see? What a brilliant judgment I made! I was right.” However, I quickly realized my mistake and promptly apologized to my Spirit Guardian.
In response, I received a telepathic message: “That’s alright, my son. I forgive you this time. But be mindful not to repeat your mistake. Now, continue with your meal.”
While chewing my rice, I promised the Spirit that I wouldn’t make such statements again, and the message conveyed that I was forgiven. As I continued pondering, I realized that perhaps I’m not as smart as I thought. My correct prediction must have come from my guardian and not from me.
The Spirit chuckled, “Haha. Good boy. Now you’re getting smart. You’ve learned your lesson. Do you know what your biggest drawback is?”
“I do not know, Sir.”
“Conceit is your biggest weak point. I’m afraid that when you achieve something, your self-conceit will rise. If that happens, all the years you spent cultivating the Way would be wasted. You must engrave this lesson in your heart and bones to curb your big ego.”
Mentally, I replied, “Divine Spirit, without your help, I have nothing. My understanding and knowledge all come from divine Providence.”
“You are right, my son. Understanding that will help you remove vanity and conceit. Ha ha… Good boy! Good boy!”
I could feel my Guardian’s happiness as he laughed and stroked his beard. When I wrote these lines, I felt guided by the holy force, filled with divine energy, and warmth all over, as if my Guardian was right next to me.
I respectfully thank Grandmaster and Master for the precious dharma. I will forever remember this lesson and not become proud of myself, no matter how many achievements I may have, understanding that everything I have comes from the Deities of Celestial Old_Guru Secret Teaching. I have nothing but a body that stinks.
I’ve noticed a change in myself since studying every day under the Spirit’s guidance. I am calmer and no longer bothered by people’s personal business. I am more thoughtful toward my family, and especially I know how to care for myself by studying hard so that I can make a decent living and not end up like my parents, who have to labor their whole lives just to survive.
Dear Grandmaster and Teacher, I humbly ask for your continued guidance for this pupil, who has more bad karma than good.
Bowing down to GM and Teacher with my head on the ground.
